The Bath
Children's Novel Award is our annual prize
for emerging children's authors. New for 2022 we are accepting picture
book texts as well as chapter books or novels for children and teens.
Literary agent Amber Caravéo
will choose the £3,000 winning book from a shortlist chosen by young
readers. Amber is looking for “potential rather than perfection"
and "new voices that offer something unique and brilliant either
in terms of story or style.”
All shortlistees will receive feedback from our Junior Judging team
and there's an online course place worth £1,800 from
Professional Writing Academy and Cornerstones Literary Consultancy
for one lucky longlistee.
Submissions close at 23:59 GMT on 30th November 2022.

Since 2018 over 200 writers on a low income have
received free / sponsored entry places. The scheme is open until
the prize deadline on November 30th and you can find all the
details to do this here.
