LIFF 2022 enters its second week with so much more to see!

From 11 to 17 November at LIFF 2022 we are launching 44 more new features, with some of the most anticipated films of the programme selection. Highlights include: Aftersun, Broker, Confession, Corsage, Everybody Loves Jeanne, God Said Give ‘Em Drum Machines, Holy Spider, Loving Highsmith, My Imaginary Country, Sick of Myself, Under the Fig Trees, and We Might As Well Be Dead.

Over the second week, we also present our New Directors Competition for first and second features, our Academy Award-qualifying International Short Film and World Animation competitions, and our BAFTA-qualifying British and Yorkshire short film competitions. LIFF 2022 closes on 17 November with Aftersun: all three screenings are sold out but the film is released in cinemas on 18 November.

 

 

 

 

Close and A Bunch of Amateurs lead the LIFF 2022 Audience Awards

Thank you to everyone who has been voting in the LIFF 2022 Audience Awards. Lukas Dhont’s beautiful and devastating Close is the current favourite fiction feature and Kim Hopkins’ joyous and heartbreaking A Bunch of Amateurs is the favourite documentary. The final winners will be announced at 11pm on 17 November after votes have been counted for our final film, Charlotte Wells’ Aftersun.

 

 

 

Leeds 2022 Awards Night on 13 November

 

On 13 November from 7pm at Howard Assembly Room we are announcing the winning feature of our New Directors Competition and all the winners of the Leeds Short Film Awards 2022. You can find out the winners at the start of the event and then watch the winning short films from our International, British, Yorkshire, Animation, Screendance, and Queer competitions.

LIFF 2022 on Leeds Film Player

There are 32 features and short film programmes from LIFF 2022 available to watch on our streaming platform Leeds Film Player until 17 November, including Adam, Eat Your Catfish, The Star Wars Kid, God Said Give ‘Em Drum Machines, and the Leeds Short Film Awards competitions. A feature is £7 to rent and a short film programme £5, and discounted bundles are available.
