ALBUM OF THE WEEK

For the first in our series of suggested albums we present the Debut Album from TC And The Groove Family.
Band leader Tim Cook and vocalists Paris Elektra and Franz Von are well known faces at the Domino and its of no surprise that this album is exceptional.
"Soaring horns, jangly highlife guitars, Latin-Caribbean polyrhythms and rousing, socially/politically-charged lyrics collide in pulsing afrobeat and UK jazz conversation on First Home, the debut album by Leeds-raised 10-piece"

Join our expert panel as they discuss the process of hoarding across time and cultures. From assembling and burying, to curating and displaying, our panel will give diverse perspectives on this fascinating practice.

The keynote address will be delivered by Professor Richard Bradley, Emeritus Professor of Archaeology at the University of Reading, discussing the phenomenon of hoarding from prehistory to the Viking Age, the period when the Galloway Hoard was buried.

Creative Kirklees Newsletter 9 August 2022

We have exciting news!  The Creative Development Team have been designing a new Creative Kirklees website which will be launched in September to promote all things creative happening locally.

The new look site will make it even easier for you to use and for us to share and shout about all the amazing arts and cultural activity going on in Kirklees.

To continue to receive our fabulous newsletter you will need to go to the new website to resubscribe before 1 September 2022.  Take a look around the new site here and subscribe to the newsletter when the subscription screen pops up (might take a few seconds).

If you are a business, organisation or individual who normally adds content and have events going on from September onwards, you’ll need to add them to the new website.  To do this check whether your profile is on the new site, register if you’ve not done so already and add or update your business/group profile. You can check out the User Guide for help.

Remember - to continue to receive our newsletter and keep in tune with creative news, sign up for our new newsletter when the pop up screen appears here. To update or add your business/group profile sign in or register now.

Meanwhile, please see scroll down to find some great activities taking place in the district over the next week and into August, and check out the latest opportunities and news!
