Book Review
This
beautifully illustrated and brilliantly funny book from award-winning
artist Peter Brown is perfect for kids heading to school for the first
time or facing a new teacher with new rules.
Bobby has a big problem at school.
Her name is Ms. Kirby.
She’s loud, she yells, and if you throw paper airplanes, she
won’t let you enjoy break. Ms. Kirby is a monster! Luckily, Bobby
can go to the park on weekends to unwind. And then one day…on the way
to his favorite spot…Bobby finds a terrible surprise. You guessed it, it’s
Ms. Kirby! But as he gets to know Ms. Kirby outside of school,
something strange happens. She begins to look a bit less like a monster,
and a bit more like a person.
"an inspired book that is exquisitely illustrated and
can easily lead to a discussion about being yourself and acceptance." -- Guardian
