In the
meantime, we have highlighted some of this week’s events and
opportunities for you.
Have you
got your tickets yet for the Orchestra of Opera North’s
first concert for the 2022-23 Kirklees Concert Season? On Thursday 15
September the Orchestra are joined by one of the world’s finest
clarinettists, Julian Bliss, for an energetic programme featuring
Gershwin's jazz-influenced An American in Paris, Duke Ellington's
blues-drenched Harlem, Aaron Copland’s Clarinet Concerto. See the full Kirklees Concert Season,
including the lunchtime Organ Concerts here.
On
Saturday 3 September (2pm to 5pm) Artists United
invite you to an informal 'meet the artists' event to celebrate their
exhibition at the Creative Arts Hub in Mirfield. Pop along and see the
New Horizons exhibition which explores a variety of themes explored by
the artists.
Do you
have any exciting events happening over October half term and the Festive
period in December that you would like help with promoting? Kirklees
Council are putting together a brochure with events and activities
happening around Kirklees. If you would like your activity to be included,
send details to the Events team by Thursday 1 September 2022 – Email: events@kirklees.gov.uk.
A new
funding opportunity, I FEEL GOOD! , has been
launched to support projects as part of the Kirklees Year of Music 2023.
Creative Minds are leading the small-grants award process and focusing on
developing creative activities in partnership with community
organisations that use music to help improve the health and wellbeing of
people. Deadline: 19 September 2022.
Have a
creative week!
