Am I a good citizen? I buy my loo roll
from Who
Gives A Crap; I don’t leave the tap running while brushing my
teeth; I make sure my 100-year-old neighbour has enough shopping; I don’t
kick the dog.
But I know there’s a lot more to it than that, which is why I’m bowled away
by Jon Alexander and his book Citizen.
His life-affirming narrative encourages us to stop thinking of ourselves as
consumers but as citizens, collaborative, caring and creatives ones at
that. He’s on a mission to change the world. I’m going to join him.

TRANSFORMATION
TRIPS
I’m a spa addict and I love a transformational experience, but I don’t
think I’ve been anywhere as close to a profound shift as Clover Stroud
underwent at Broughton
Hall in Yorkshire. What do you think?

INTERIORS
IN AN AGE OF ECO ANXIETY
You may wear Stella McCartney, but what does your home look like when it
comes to being climate conscious? Charlotte Rickards gives us a sneak peek
inside the house of Alice
Aedy and Jack Harries, the founders of Earthrise who’ve got
climate chic nailed.

EMILY
BRONTË
Wuthering
Heights is one of those books that I can remember where I read
it and how it made me feel. I was 17 on a Spanish exchange with Mormons, if
you’re asking. I devoured it so I’m super keen to see Frances
O’Connor’s new film about its author, Emily.
