24 Hour Show

Participants - Friday 8th October 2021 - 7pm

Come and see what we have created Saturday 9th October 2021 - 7.30pm

Ever fancied treading the boards, but you're not too keen on months of rehearsals? Maybe you'd just like to witness what a bunch of fellow humans can create within one spin of the earth's axis...? In all of these cases, the 24 Hour Show is the event for you!
Now in it's fifth year at The Bradford Playhouse. A bunch of willing participants gather together on a Friday Night. The show that is to be attempted is revealed at 7:30pm.
Then the hard work begins. Those who want to act, audition. Those who want to be behind the scenes, plot and create. Dresses are made, dance routines are perfected, props are acquired, lines are 'learned'. The 'fun' continues throughout the night, with Playhouse staff on hand to ensure that no-one gets too tired and lay on a piping hot breakfast as the Saturday dawns.
As the hours tick by, the pace becomes frenetic. Rehearsals continue, sets are built, lights are hung, sound is tested. All building up to the inevitable crescendo that is the show itself...
So what are you waiting for? Grab your hat, grab your cane (or your drill, or sewing machine) and get involved. After all, there's no business like 24 hour showbusiness...
If you don’t fancy joining in do support us by coming along to watch at 7.30pm on Saturday 9th October
Performance ticket: £10

Creative Kirklees Newsletter 28 September 2021

With Autumn upon us, it’s great to see Poetry in the Park return to Greenhead Park this Saturday – why not take along your seasonal poems or just go along to listen.

There are lots of great exhibitions showing around Kirklees just now and with the evenings turning much colder, perhaps you might fancy a night at the theatre – the Huddersfield Thespians are back at the LBT this week presenting John Godber’s play “Teechers”.

After a joyous and uplifting pre-launch event for the Year of Music 2023 last week, exciting times are ahead. Find out everything you need to know in the build up to this celebratory year by visiting the newly revamped Year of Music website where you can sign up to the newsletter, register your interest in getting involved and make sure you are listed in the music directory if you are not already. Ooh and do check out the official Launch Film - it is a joy to watch.

Talking of all things music – here are the dates for two special Festivals returning LIVE very soon – Marsden Jazz Festival (8-10 Oct) and Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival (18-22 November). We can’t wait!

Enjoy your week everyone - we hope its creative!
