A WHOLE FESTIVAL FULL OF IN-PERSON
EVENTS
What a
refreshing change it makes to say that we have a whole weekend
jammed with live and very much in-person events just around the corner – The
Lakes International Comic Art Festival, featuring
oh-so-many Myriad graphic novelists…
Kicking the weekend off to an explosive start, Kate Charlesworth (Sensible Footwear) – and her alter ego Auntie Studs – will be joining the legendary Battle of the Toons. At the end of the night, only one of the eight comic guests will survive, and that depends on how well they make their case to you, the audience. BOOK TICKETS BUY SENSIBLE FOOTWEAR
Saturday morning starts bright and early with graphic journalist Darryl Cunningham (Putin's Russia: The Rise of a Dictator, Billionaires) in conversation with Wang Ning (My Only Child, Fanfare), hosted by Paul Gravett. They will be talking about how graphic novels can have a very real impact on the world, as well as discussing their latest works – both of which have a focus on repressive regimes. BOOK TICKETS BUY PUTIN'S RUSSIA
On Sunday morning Hannah Eaton (Blackwood, Naming Monsters) will be hosting a workshop on drawing monsters and creating their 3D homes – using drawing and papercrafting to help your imagination run wild. BOOK TICKETS BUY HANNAH’S BOOKS
Come and say hello and get your books signed by our authors – the Myriad Book Stall will be at Tables 14 & 15 on the ground floor of the Comics Clock Tower, in the Town Hall, all weekend.
