On Sunday 10 October a very special event will be taking place at the first direct arena, Leeds (3pm-5pm) to celebrate the amazing achievements of Yorkshire’s Olympians and Paralympians in Tokyo. Team Yorkshire: The Homecoming features appearances by some of the biggest names from Team GB and Paralympics GB including Jonny Brownlee, Hannah Cockcroft MBE, Georgia Taylor-Brown, Jess Learmonth, Adam Duggleby, Steve Bates, Chris Skelley and Jamie Stead.
The event, which is being organised by Leeds City Council in association with Channel 4, will be hosted by BBC sports broadcaster Tanya Arnold and Leeds’-own Olympic bronze medallist gymnast Nile Wilson. The homecoming will feature interviews with our Olympians and Paralympians interspersed with live entertainment from The Skylights, Phoenix Dance Theatre, Bongo Warriors, Spark! LED Drummers, Mind the Gap and a poem created by Yorkshire Prose specifically for the event.
Tickets, for what promises to be a memorable occasion, are available now at Leeds Arena's website for just £5 (plus booking fee), which includes a donation to charity SportsAid.
