“What do you wanna be remembered for when your children say your name?”

And we are live! We are so thrilled to be bringing this contemporary adaptation of Sophocles’ Greek tale, Antigone, written by Bradford's own Kamal Kaan, to you this week.

Each performance of Aalliyah (After Antigone) will be both digital and live, so if you can’t be here in person you won’t miss out!

In an office somewhere in Bradford, Aaliyah and Imani are trying to get on with their cleaning job while anxiously waiting for news of their brother, Syeed, threatened with deportation to Bangladesh. When Home Secretary, Parveen Parvaiz, announces the news they dread, Aaliyah must rise up and face the might of the State but her political activism puts her own life in danger.

Putting the spotlight on the fragile nature of citizenship in the UK and making us question our own relationship to ourselves and our country, we hope you can join us for this powerful new play, either in Bradford or online!

Performances take place in real life at Impact Hub Bradford, Digital Exchange, 34 Peckover Street, Bradford BD1 5BD or watch digitally on your mobile device via app or stream on your PC/laptop. Booking is required in advance for both the live in person show and to receive the links to watch online, for booking links and full information follow the link below.
