West End shows

Not long now until we can go back to the theatre (fingers crossed), so with thanks to my fellow blogger West End Wilma, here are some of the performances we can look forward to:

It's just two weeks until government guidelines allow indoor theatre productions to resume performances (at 50% capacity and with social distancing in place).

Take a look at the musicals, plays and live events taking place this month.

Theatre is making a comeback (sorry Norma Desmond, I mean a return).

Carrie Hope Fletcher with Jeff Wayne at The War of The Worlds: The Immersive Experience

If you love theatre, you'll love our new Carrie Hope Fletcher quiz!

Enter now for your chance to win £250 worth of Theatre Tokens and see Carrie this Summer in two unique and amazing productions, as part of the digital cast for Jeff Wayne's The War of The Worlds: The Immersive Experience and in Andrew Lloyd Webber's Cinderella.

The quiz closes on Tues 4 May so be quick! Then, share your results across social media and challenge your friends to see who knows the most about Carrie Hope Fletcher!

As well as testing your knowledge, one lucky winner will be picked at random to win £250 worth of Theatre Tokens to spend however you like. This is enough to buy a pair of VIP tickets to Jeff Wayne's The War of The Worlds: The Immersive Experience or for some great seats to see Carrie in Cinderella!

Introducing 'the next level of theatre' - Jeff Wayne's The War of The Worlds: The Immersive Experience reopens from Sat 22 May (Wed - Sat and selected Sundays). Tickets are on sale now!

Described as the 'future of entertainment' (DesignMyNight), the experience is feature length (2 hours long!) and takes you through 24 extraordinary interactive scenes as you’re not only watching the story, you’re IN the story.

You'll visit the Royal Observatory on Horsell Common, sneak into George Herbert's deserted house, and even escape London by boat!

Along the way you'll meet 12 live actors and a digital cast, including Carrie Hope Fletcher (Jeff Wayne's TWOTW Arena Tour, Heathers, Les Miserables, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang) and Tom Brittney (Grantchester, Make Me Famous).

"The decor and rooms you go through are done really well, the interactive actors were fab and great in character...not too scary but suspenseful and fun"

- Nikki D, London, via Tripadvisor

★★★★★
"As a regular theatre goer and having attended other immersive experiences, this one certainly comes out on top with its clever use of VR, outstanding cast and use of the original iconic soundtrack. Very highly recommend."

- Mark R, Brentwood, Tripadvisor

★★★★★
"West End Standard show...I don't know of any theatre that has you as part of the story in this way. It's just joyous."

- Connor C, Luton

This award-winning experience is only in London for a limited time from 22 May. Hurry, 1001 performances are already fully booked and May and June are already selling out!

WELCOME BACK TO THE ROCK!

Come From Away will reopen at London's Phoenix Theatre in the West End on 22 July 2021.

Discover the remarkable true story of a small town that welcomed the world.

Come From Away shares the incredible real-life story of the 7,000 air passengers from all over the world who were grounded in Canada during the wake of 9/11, and the small Newfoundland community that invited these ‘come from aways’ into their lives.

As uneasiness turned into trust and music soared into the night, gratitude grew into friendships and their stories became a celebration of hope, humanity and unity.
