Cleckheaton Writers Group meeting, Monday 11 May 2021

With thanks to Alice (who kindly organised the Zoom) and Gemma (who kindly took the minutes), here are the minutes from the meeting last night:

Present: Alice, Andrea, Gemma

Apologies: Karen, Sarah, Neil

 

Since last time:

Alice has been writing three different books, flitting between them. Andrea has had lots of ideas and is recording them. Gemma has created a list of all the edits she needs to do.

 

Going forwards:

Andrea will try writing a short story to enter in the Sociological Fiction Review, which has a rolling deadline. https://www.thesociologicalreview.com/category/structure/news/

Alice will do some more writing. Gemma will do her ACE grant application and more editing. 

 

Comps: Pitmad in June. Guppy Books have an open submission week for children's books.

 

The next meeting will be on Monday 24 May 2021, 5.45pm on Zoom unless we hear the libary has reopened for meetings.
