How
the koala learnt to hug
|
Everyone knows that koalas love a cuddle
but, the truth is, that wasn’t always the case. So how
exactly did the koala learn to hug?

Lee’s best selling book, Karen The Koala and her
fabulous furry friends are back to answer that age old
question and remind us once again why there’s nothing quite
as wonderful as a nice warm hug. 3+

interactive and insane – this award-winning,
genre-defining, mixture of improv comedy and retro gaming

Families will find themselves trapped inside

The world’s only live-action, text-based
adventure game also has a more grown up version for players
aged 15+. It’s strange, insane and addictive. It’s a
comedy night, a gameshow and a pantomime all in one. Choose
your options, survive the abuse simulator that is the
improv comedy overlord John Robertson, and escape to
win – or, be brutally murdered by the rest of the crowd!
This high-octane show is the brainchild of
comedian & cult leader John Robertson. Filled
with stand-up, appalling prizes and more audience chanting
than you’d get at a protest – it’s a gut-busting rock n’
roll experience for everyone who buys a ticket.

"ALL
HERE, OR NOWHERE"
So why have we started a football club? Well it's
really rather simple...
There’s no adult sports team in Holbeck. So when
Ewan Speck, a member of our community, tasked us with starting an
inclusive football club for him to coach, knowing how sport can
be a powerful catalyst for change, we couldn’t resist taking on
this new challenge.
It is Ewan's dream to create a space where everyone
feels safe and fully part of the team - that’s why he chose a
husky logo. He knew our ethos of never saying no to anybody, so
approached us with the idea of an inclusive football club for
women and men.
Ewan is working alongside his dad, Mark Catley to
coach the men's team. Claire Blue, a resident of Holbeck,
will coach Holbeck Moor FC’s women’s team, she particularly wants
to encourage people who may have never kicked a ball before to
take part.
For all of us in Holbeck, there is still work to be
done to improve our physical and mental health. And we know sport
and culture can play a huge part in helping with this.
Therefore, as we wind-up our food bank next month, on 23rd
June, this is a natural progression of our commitment to the
health outcomes of the community we serve.
And to remove some of the barriers to participation,
Holbeck Moor Football Club will be subs-free, and players
supported with transport and anything else they might need.
Open to all adults, the women’s and men’s teams will begin weekly
training on Holbeck Moor, South Leeds, from Wednesday 23rd June
at 6:30pm. You don't need experience. You don't pay subs. Just
turn up!
Anybody interested in joining the club can email holbeckmoorfc@slunglow.org
or call 07305155698.

Hello
everyone and welcome to our first re-branded newsletter under
our new name, Forever Edinburgh!
The city has so many aspects that we want to highlight, both
for our local communities as well as our many visitors, that we
felt that a name change was appropriate. As a city, Edinburgh
is continually evolving, as it has done from the mists of time
and will carry on into the future. Forever Edinburgh aims to
reflect how people live today as much as our historical past.
As the official guide to Scotland’s capital, we will continue
to provide you with information, stories and the very best that
Edinburgh has to offer all year round.
So, join us as we take a look at what is happening in our
captivating city this month!
