With thanks to Country and Townhouse, here are five things to do in London this week:
The C&TH guide to post-pandemic workwear, and what

It never rains but it
pours. As I stomp around London in waterproof footwear
and a mac,
getting my first haircut in
months, I’m minded of our ever more unpredictable weather patterns.
I’m so proud that Country & Town House has signed up to Race to Zero,
as part of our commitment to sustainability,
thus joining a global movement to accelerate the shift to a
decarbonised economy. We’re in the process of analysing everything we
do to produce a baseline of our carbon output as it stands. We will
then create a roadmap of how we reduce it. I’m excited.
Have a great week.

EXCITING ME THIS WEEK

Workwear – with a
post-pandemic twist
With IRL meetings ramping
up, the stress of what to wear has been irking me. I’ve never been a
twinset or suit type but I have lost my way a bit when it comes to
not presenting like a slobbish couch potato. Mind you, you’ll
probably have to pay me to wear high heels ever again. Luckily, PP (post-pandemic)
workwear has something for everyone.

Hay Literary Festival
This will be the third year
we’ve hosted a talk at The Hay Festival,
with Ed Vaizey
in the chair. This year’s is on the theme of how our Great British Brands
can help save culture. An idea from GBB editor Charlotte Metcalf,
is to create a movement whereby local brands partner with local
cultural enterprises (theatre, art, museums, music, dance etc.) to
mutual benefit. Interested to hear more? Tune in at 5pm, 2 June (click to register).

Tapping
The therapy everyone’s
talking about. Why do we love it? Let me count the ways, but I should
hand over to tapping expert Poppy Delbridge
who gives us the real lowdown. She recommends it because it's ‘one of
the safest therapies’ –designed to deactivate the stress response in
the amygdala (your ‘flight’ or ‘fight’ button), so emotional issues
can be approached in a calmer way. It’s also great for collagen
production. Win-win.
