A big thank you to everyone who has joined in our

And
Huddersfield Literature Festival is here to help with top tips and

First Book Award. He introduces and reads poems from his latest
collection playtime HERE.
‘My characters hug, and kiss, and jostle each other in busy
streets…writing these scenes feels weird and even archaic; perhaps a
little transgressive. This is not what we do.’

Meg Pokrass was due to teach her Fiery Flash Fiction Workshop at our Festival – instead we
have a special treat for you: a brand new story, Glamping in the Mist. Click HERE to read it and for a link

House introduces
BSL translator Paige Northwood, brought in to help the police
investigation when a young girl is murdered in a deaf household
We hope to reschedule this event for HLF2021; meanwhile, you can read
her Q&A HERE.
RC

and wife crime-writing duo – share their insights into their writing
career and as consultants on TV crime dramas Happy Valley and Scott & Bailey.
The follow-up to their popular DI Jack Dylan series is a new series
set in Huddersfield, starting with Payback, which introduces a female DI
Charley Mann. Read their Q&A HERE.
And finally ...
In Can You Hear Me, Paramedic ‘Jake Jones’ shares a fascinating insight into
one of the most important and demanding jobs that anyone can do –
under normal circumstances. So we’d like to say a huge thank you to
‘Jake’ and all the NHS workers dealing with Coronavirus on top of
their usual duties.

PLEASE NOTE:
If you are waiting for a ticket refund, please can we ask
for your patience.
We have thousands to process and are additionally having a few issues
with those paid through WorldPay (rather than PayPal), which we
expect to be resolved soon. However, it may take a couple of weeks to

fall-out of cancelling the Festival and it takes time away from our
work to reply to you
c) phone or
email to ask if events are going ahead – all events
have been cancelled apart from those still on the events page of our
website, which we have postponed in the hope of setting a new date.
IF YOU
WOULD LIKE TO HELP US:
We have set up a page where you can donate from £3 upwards to
help our Festival funds. This will be used to pay authors to
run some online activities with us as they will no longer be
appearing at our Festival.

Thank you for your co-operation and understanding at this difficult
time.
