Summer In The City @ Seven
The city may be quiet in August but
there are some real gems to look out for at Seven over the next couple
of weeks. Tomorrow,
Friday 3 August, 8.30pm, there is still time to buy tickets
for Sardoville – For Only An
Hour. Danced to a hilarious medley of Angela Lansbury, Delia
Smith and Bette Midler this one man romp is a psuedo-glamouress jaunt
through pop culture, queer art, childhood dreams and life changing
surgery. “Brilliantly Conceived and Superb in entertainment value.” A
great way to celebrate Leeds Pride. £8adv

On Saturday 4 August,
5pm, is Bollywood movie,102 Not Out.
This is a film screening by Association of Blind Asians in celebration
of Boithak 1st Anniversary. A 102-year-old man who wants to break the
record of oldest living male has just one problem -- he must find a way
to change the sad and grumpy demeanour of his 75-year-old son. £3 on the door.
On Sunday 5 August,
1-2pm, Anything Could Happen.
Improvising children’s ideas on the spot and bringing their stories to
life before their eyes. Engaging, creative and hilarious, join us to
see what stories your children have to tell. Suitable for 4 – 12 year

What better for an August night, on Wednesday
8 August, 8.30pm, the sounds of America with TumbleweedAmericana -
I See Hawks in L.A.The Hawks are noted for their lyrical
celebrations and lamentations of earth and ecosphere, odes to the
endless highway, and wry social commentary. “A superb ensemble with a

On Thursday 9 August,
7.30pm, look forward to Refuge Woman by Cash
Carraway. Inspired by real life events, this darkly
humorous, spoken-word performance provides snapshots of life in a
women’s refuge, as Cash attempts to rebuild her life from scratch in a
world where an Argos suitcase contains everything she needs to start
again. £5 / or

And one for all the family on Friday
10 August, 8pm, the final movie in our Summer Film Season of 80s
Classics – Dirty Dancing. Baby is disappointed when her
summer plans deposit her at a sleepy resort in the Catskills with her
parents. Her luck turns around, however, when the resort’s dance
instructor, Johnny enlists Baby as his new partner, and the two fall in
love. Stars: Jennifer Grey, Patrick Swayze. £6 on the door
