Summer In The City @ Seven

The city may be quiet in August but there are some real gems to look out for at Seven over the next couple of weeks. Tomorrow, Friday 3 August, 8.30pm, there is still time to buy tickets for Sardoville – For Only An Hour. Danced to a hilarious medley of Angela Lansbury, Delia Smith and Bette Midler this one man romp is a psuedo-glamouress jaunt through pop culture, queer art, childhood dreams and life changing surgery. “Brilliantly Conceived and Superb in entertainment value.” A great way to celebrate Leeds Pride. £8adv /£10 otd. Doors 8pm.

On Saturday 4 August, 5pm, is Bollywood movie,102 Not Out. This is a film screening by Association of Blind Asians in celebration of Boithak 1st Anniversary. What better for an August night, on Wednesday 8 August, 8.30pm, the sounds of America with TumbleweedAmericana  - I See Hawks in L.A.The Hawks are noted for their lyrical celebrations and lamentations of earth and ecosphere, odes to the endless highway, and wry social commentary. “A superb ensemble with a serious pedigree in California’s roots-rock scene.’ Uncut. £11 adv/ £13 otd. 8pm doors.

On Thursday 9 August, 7.30pm, look forward to Refuge Woman by Cash Carraway. Doors 7pm.

And one for all the family on Friday 10 August, 8pm, the final movie in our Summer Film Season of 80s Classics – Dirty Dancing. Her luck turns around, however, when the resort’s dance instructor, Johnny enlists Baby as his new partner, and the two fall in love. Stars: Jennifer Grey,  Patrick Swayze. £6 on the door
