right on your doorstep, no need to travel far. We've listed loads of
things to do in this handy article, to give you some ideas to keep even
the littlest legs active.

Jeremy Hardy
is performing stand-up in Cleckheaton
Jeremy Hardy is in
his 4th decade as a stand-up this year and he will be appearing at
Cleckheaton Town Hall on 22 October 2018 at 8pm with his one-man show.
We’re delighted to
announce that we’ve been awarded a four star rating (out of four!) for
our digital services and websites from the SOCITM Better Connected
report for 2018. We’re just one of 42 out of the 414 UK council
websites that were tested by Better Connected to receive a 4 star
award.
From Tuesday, we're
sending out the Household Enquiry Forms to all homes in Kirklees. We
need everyone to fill these in, so we can check the right people are
registered to vote. Even if nothing has changed, you DO need to
respond. You can let us know online, by phone, text message or post.
We all like to enjoy
the sun and hot weather, but it's really important that you and your
family stay safe as well. Get health tips, and practical tips on
staying safe in the summer.
Our cabinet have now
agreed the 2019/20 term dates for Kirklees community and voluntary
schools. We've worked hard to make sure holidays line up with
neighbouring areas wherever possible. Please be sure to check out our
term dates before booking holidays.
Inclusive
activities for all at Greenhead Park next weekend
We are working with
the Huddersfield Town Foundation and Yorkshire Sport Foundation to
bring sports and activities to Greenhead Park, Huddersfield. There will
be wheelchair rugby league and basketball, tennis, adapted bikes, football,
caving, cricket and much more by local providers - for all ages and
abilities.
New victim
support hubs open in Dewsbury and Batley
Working with Victim
Support to develop spaces dedicated to supporting victims and witnesses
of crime in Dewsbury and Batley; we are providing valuable resources
for victims through regular drop-ins and pre-arranged appointments.
Everyone in Kirklees
is excited about the Huddersfield Carnival, and of course local
‘Mixers’ are looking forward to watching the girls performing this
weekend. To help you plan your weekend check out our article on

Are you
involved in the running of a place of worship?
The government are
running a funding scheme to help faith groups increase their security
against hate crime, and we’re helping local groups to apply. We're in
Batley, Dewsbury, and Huddersfield on Monday 16 July.
Boothroyd
Primary are award-winning 'bike blingers'
Schools across the
region took part in the School's Yorkshire Tour baton relay in June.
Schools also had the chance to 'Bling A Bike' and enter into a
competition. Boothroyd not only won in Kirklees, but also across
Yorkshire. As well as being presented with a Golden Baton in Leeds; we
also awarded a selection of bike helmets, locks and funding to
encourage children to cycle and walk to school.

Travelling with
young people? MyDay, a new all-day, £2.60 county-wide bus ticket for
young people in West Yorkshire was launched this week. All day, any bus
- travel wherever MyDay takes you.
