The Bookseller Children's Conference, 26 September, see below for full details:
One
step beyond: taking children's publishing to new heights

We have been beavering away confirming speakers for The Bookseller Children's Conference,
and, drum roll please, the programme is now LIVE.
We've got a few more speaker announcements up our sleeves, but take a
look at our fabulous line-up. We hope you will join us on the day. The
early bird offer is ending on Monday . . . (just saying)
One of the speakers joining us is Adele Minchin, associate director
at Riot Communications. Given that mining our backlist for lucrative
returns and successful brand management is no longer simply a case of
re-jacketing in this season’s latest shades, Adele will take us
through how to create new audiences for existing properties, as
applied to heritage brand the Moomins, published by Macmillan Children’s Books.
This will include creative, 360-degree strategies that protect the
integrity of a brand, curate cultural moments around it, and –
ultimately for publishers – grow book sales.
And from making old books new, to publishing anew. Founder and publisher of
Lantana Publishing Alice
Curry and author/illustrator Nadine Kaadan
will be sharing their experiences of publishing with a passion, and
widening horizons for both readers and writers.
