Go Americana @ Seven
If Americana is your
thing we have a couple of great gigs coming up at Seven. Firstly,
tomorrow, Saturday
19 August, 8pm, Mewl Music presents Ragged Union Bluegrass.
Ragged Union returns with a bunch of new material that has earned them
public and critical acclaim. Based in Boulder, Colorado, the band
features the singing and song-writing duo, Geoff and Christina Union, and
Mandolin Champion, Jordan Ramsey. £12adv/£15 otd.
The following week, on Thursday
24 August, 8.30pm, TumbleweedAmericana presents Lindsay Lou & Sweet Water
Warblers. Formed at the Hoxeyville Music Festival in
2014, the band has gone on to attract serious admiration wherever they
appear. With three-part vocal harmonies that are sublime, they trade
instruments including mountain fiddle and banjo, uke, guitar and double
bass. £11 adv /£13
otd. Doors 8pm.
Events hot up as August draws to a close, when Chapel Allerton Arts
Festival gets into its stride. Look out for : on Monday 28 August, CAAF Short Film Festival; on
Wednesday 30 August, Kill For A Seat Comedy;
on Thursday 31 August,
Folk Roots Fringe
and over Festival
weekend, the Village Jazz Festival.
