Summer Family events in Kirklees libraries

There are several events to look forward to this Summer in our local libraries:

Suitable for children of all ages unless specified.

Will you take up the Summer Reading Challenge?
Read 6 books and visit the library 3 times to earn a medal and certificate!
 
Read 2 books and get your collectors card and the first set of stickers

Read 2 more books and get your second set of stickers (some are smelly!)

Read 2 more books and get the final set of stickers, plus your medal and certificate!
 
Join for FREE from Sat 11 July 2015 and complete by Sat 12 September 2015!

Aimed at children aged 4 - 11. Ask library staff for further details.

Explore Nature Family Story Walks
 
Explore your local park and discover the creatures have made their homes in the different habitats. Suitable for children of all ages. We’ll pause along the way for a story and to learn more about the wildlife we’ve spotted.

‘On The Bus’ family theatre from Satellite Arts
 
On The Bus, is a sunny summer story told with live music, magic, puppets and songs, made especially for young children Grandy is a musical bus driver. When his passengers leave the bus he finds some lost property, including a comical goose!
Price £1 adults and 50p children (or £2 for a family of 4)

Flutter a butterfly to the Dewsbury Country Park Summer Launch Party


Make a butterfly flutter puppet, walk to the nearby country park where there will be the Golden Bear Hunt, den building, foraging and other activities. Bring a picnic if you wish and enjoy your local countryside.

Family friendly walk but no unaccompanied children.
