We have an action-packed itinerary ready for you! Arrive early and paddle in the shallows of our brand-new Friday Fringe programme. Then come on board to listen to tales of discovery and adventure from our FOUR KEYNOTE SPEAKERS, Jonny Duddle, David Fickling and double act Sarah McIntyre, Philip Reeve!
Raise your sails and set off on your own journey of exploration around the Breakout Isles where you are sure to find treasure to delight you. Commissioning Editor Jasmine Richards will help you navigate your way through that rocky ‘Obligatory Scene’. 64 Zoo Lane creator An Vrombaut will dive into the depths of animated series development, while author/ illustrator David Lucas will map out the perfect picture book. All this and you have still only dipped your toe in the water!
Whether you are an author or illustrator, traditionally or self-published there will be an excursion that is just right for you. Last year’s popular PULSE stream returns with the chance to develop your school visit package have the opportunity to discuss with other professionals issues relating to establishing and career building. Also introducing for the first time ever at the British Isles Conference, our first ever SPARKS event, in which a panel including award-winning author/ illustrator Gillian McClure will investigate the different routes into self-publishing, the highs and lows, the perils and pit falls, the opportunities and the successes.
