Here is the new Creative Kirklees News newsletter with the latest events, news and opportunities:

Creative Kirklees

Latest Events, News and Opportunities

We’re halfway through the school holidays and the fun is far from over. There are still lots of children’s activities happening across the district - perfect for keeping young minds active, curious and creative.

There are three fantastic festivals coming up in June across Kirklees offering a vibrant mix of creativity, community and celebration for everyone to enjoy. Holmfirth Arts Festival returns with its main weekend of entertainment taking place from 12–14 June, filling the town with performances, music and outdoor arts. Then on 27 June, the Deighton Carnival marks its 25th Festival, while on the same day Cleckheaton’s Longest Day Festival brings five venues to life with over 27 artists in a unique grassroots celebration.

Also, coming up at Oakwell Hall on Sunday 7 June is Woven’s World Stitch Day - a free, vibrant celebration of global craft with hands‑on workshops, traditional outfits and a lively textiles marketplace full of unique stitch‑led creations.

As highlighted last week, the Seasons of Culture – Nature funding programme is currently open for applications, offering support for creative projects across Kirklees – if you have a project coming up that needs funding, do explore the funding details and make sure you apply before the 10 June deadline.

As always, our newsletter showcases just a selection of the creative opportunities and activities happening across the area, with plenty more to explore on our websites.
