Creative Kirklees
Latest Events, News and Opportunities

Thursday, May 14th

Our newsletter is arriving a day later than usual - but for an exciting reason. A major new funding opportunity has launched today, and we wanted you to be the first to hear about it.

The Kirklees ‘Seasons of Culture – Nature’ programme is part of a new regional initiative celebrating creativity and the natural environment, funded by West Yorkshire Combined Authority. Applications are now open to those working across Kirklees in the creative and cultural sector - from third‑sector organisations and grassroots community groups to registered creative businesses, sole traders and freelancers. Whether it’s outdoor performances, exhibitions, community growing projects or sustainable creative practice, this programme supports ideas that bring people together, connect communities with nature and champion a greener future. The deadline for applications is 10 June, so please do spread the word about this brilliant opportunity.

Remember Huddersfield Literature Festival continues to fill the town with inspiring events until 17 May and with the school holidays approaching, Kirklees has a brilliant mix of children and family activities in store, from hands‑on arts and crafts to interactive shows and workshops.

There’s a whole host of other brilliant events and opportunities happening across the region in addition to those included in our newsletter below, so please check our websites, new highlights are added regularly.
