You want the hype to be short-lived, the slew of gushing Instagram pronouncements to be just a flurry of flash-in-the-pan PR-generated gush. You probably haven’t been to the establishment – and will never go. It’s the ‘following the herdness’ of it all that you can’t abide. Which is why I will always listen to our hotels editor, Fiona Duncan, who won’t thank me for saying she’s had a few decades in the trade. If she likes a place – in spite of, not because of, the current fandom – then it’s definitely worth a sniff at. And so it was with Estelle Manor, the dazzling Cotswolds hotel glamazon.
