Dear Reader,

Is spring in the air? Even from my West London window, I’ve heard birdsong reminiscent of the changing of the season. But we have a month to go officially, so let’s not get ahead of ourselves. I’m feeling restless though, just like Michael Morpurgo, whose latest book (heads up – it’s not out till March, but you can preorder it here) is his first adult fiction in 40 years. Called Spring, and one of a quartet on the seasons commissioned by Hodder, he draws you into his Devonshire surroundings and allows you to walk with him where he goes, waiting for the swallow to return, or observing the otter in the river. It is exquisite, intimate, and so simple – storytelling is what we humans do best, and when it’s done with such brilliance and authenticity, it’s life-affirming. I was lucky enough to speak to Michael for our latest edition, which is out now. Don’t miss your copy.

Have a great week.

WHAT’S ON MY MIND THIS WEEK

What’s It Like To Win Not One Dragon But Two?

There’s a nice circle to this story, as C&TH gave eco-brand Seep its very first bit of press back in 2021. Now founder Laura has appeared on Dragons’ Den and netted her two dream dragons… Trinny Woodall and Deborah Meaden. Watch this space.

Your Lunar New Year Zodiac

I’m a rabbit, according to the Chinese zodiac. A quick scan of the personality traits, and I’m ok with being a bunny. But what does the year of the snake (‘life-changing’) have in store for you?

Pvolve: Jennifer Aniston's Go-To Workout Explained

Menopausal like Jen? Body like, um, not Jen? Perhaps we need to embrace Pvolve, her exercise regime of choice (she loves it so much that she became an ambassador). I’ll have what she’s having… because, let’s face it, the girl looks fab.

Today is apparently Yorkshire Pudding Day – celebrate with a slap-up roast at one of the Gladwin Brothers’ restaurants, known for their immense bone marrow yorkies.
