Diary of a Hustler @ Seven


Tonight, Thursday 30th January, 7pm, Seven is screening, One Life, the true story of Sir Nicholas ‘Nicky’ Winton, a young London broker who rescued children from Prague in 1938 whose families had fled the Nazis. Seven Venue. Pay What You Feel. Organised by Leeds City Council Holocaust Memorial Day.

On Saturday 1st February, 4-6pmWinter Warmers – Devon Salinas. Devon, an artist based in Leeds, brings together the soulful flavours of jazz, R&B, soul, and blues in a harmonious musical blend. Graduating with honours from Leeds Conservatoire in 2023, his expertise in Jazz Guitar forms the backbone of his eclectic style. Pay What You Feel. Seven Bar. Organised by MEWL Music

Sorry, Mik Artistik’s Ego Trip on Saturday 1st February is SOLD OUT.

On Sunday 2nd February 1.30-4pm, JazzLeeds – Jamil Sheriff Trio with Nadim Teimoori. Performing brand new music from his upcoming album, Jamil Sheriff brings together this exquisite group of musicians featuring long time collaborators Dave Walsh on drums, Nadim Teimoori on sax and Sam Quintana on double bass. Seven Venue. Doors 1pm. £12 / £10 conc. £12 on the door. Under 16s free.

Also on Sunday 2nd February, 7.30pm, the Seven Quiz .Test your knowledge in a relaxed atmosphere – a great way to end the weekend with friends. Seven Bar. £5 per team entry. With prizes.

Next week
on Wednesday 5th February 6-7.15pm,  Rush Hour Jazz – Maranello Trio. The Trio comprises Jamie Taylor on guitar, Adrian Knowles on double bass, and Jason Scott on piano performing swinging jazz standards. Seven Bar. PAYF donations. Organised by JazzLeeds.

Also on Wednesday 5th February, 7.30pm, Murder Inc. presents Murder Actually. Grab your detective team and come solve a mystery set in a Rom Com.The show is a wholly improvised crime story, the cast taking your suggestions and weaving a sordid tale for you that is pacy and packed with belly laughs. Seven Venue. £10.

JazzLeeds – Bruno Heinen’s The W perform at Seven on Thursday 6th February 7.30pm. Sublime vocals from Heidi Vogel bring a contemporary, stylish sound to The W,  a London-based contemporary jazz quartet of outstanding musicality creating chamber jazz that is as exciting and inventive, as it is elegant and sophisticated.  Seven Venue. £20 full price, £18 concession, £10 for aged 30 and under.

On Friday 7th February, 8pm, Diary of a Hustler is a character led comedic drama that reveals the absurdity of a mindset that glorifies work above all else. Join us for a thought-provoking, laugh-out-loud examination of one man’s struggle to find his place in the world. Seven Venue. Running Time: 60mins – No breaks. £11.

At the weekend look out for Winter Warmers - Six Days and the inimitable Voodoo Room playing Hendrix /Clapton /Cream.
