Eccleshill
Library Refurbishment.
Eccleshill Library is back and better than ever – just in
time to join the excitement of Bradford’s City of Culture celebrations!
After closing its doors in late October, the library has
reopened following a fantastic refurbishment, thanks to funding from Arts
Council England’s 'Libraries Improvement Fund.' This is part the library
service's district-wide work to create more flexible, dynamic spaces for
meetings, events, and community activities.
Visitors will love the fresh new look of both the adults'
and children’s areas, along with a fully revamped first-floor meeting
room. Plus, a brand-new small meeting space on the ground floor adds even
more options for events. With wheeled shelving that can be moved aside,
the ground floor now transforms easily into a spacious event venue!
Additional funding from the Community Infrastructure Levy
(CIL) has made the library more accessible than ever, with a new rear
entrance and a modern, accessible public toilet on the ground floor.
Come and explore all the exciting new features at Eccleshill
Library – where a world of stories, learning, and culture awaits!
Onisere and the
Ballet Queen Storytelling & Dance Workshop (Ages 4-8).
Please
note the time was wrong for the Shipley event in yesterday's
newsletter.
Bradford Libraries will host special 'Onisere and the
Ballet Queen' storytelling sessions. This interactive event follows the
journey of Onisere, a young girl who dreams of being a ballet dancer
but has never seen anyone who looks like her. With the help of the
magical ballet queen Simbira, Onisere discovers the incredible history
of Black British ballet dancers. This session combines dance,
storytelling, and fun, with every participant receiving their own copy
of the story to take home. Perfect for children aged 4-8.
