Music @ Seven
It's a great week at Seven for lovers of live music.
On Friday 24th January
7.30pm, look forward to Fold. Through a
wide range of voices including MCs, poets, historical speakers and
singers, Fold amplifies humanitarian perspectives and critical
reflections on today’s world. Their sound ranges from jazz-funk through
trip-hop, Brazilian and psyche. The band is supported by gorgeous jazzy
ensemble, Mother Sugar. Seven
Venue. Doors 7pm. £10.
Winter Warmers - White Sail
is performing Saturday
25th January 4-6pm. The band is rooted in the music of the
people and the land; a heart driven energy in the way the combined
talents of Jane Stockdale, Chris Bartram and Sarah Dean share their
music and songs. Seven
Bar. Pay What You Feel. Organised by MEWL Music.
Also on Saturday 25th
January, 7.30pm The Emerald Dawn and This
Winter Machine. A dream double-header, The Emerald Dawn is a
multi-instrumentalist, eclectic, melodic progressive rock quartet, a
sound that is cinematic, epic, experimental and powerful. The Winter
Machine is a modern day neo prog band that takes influences from everything
from 80s Rush and Marillion, creating a sound completely their own. Seven Venue. £15 advance / £18
on the door.
On Sunday 26th January
2 -4pm JazzLeeds – January Jazz
Cafe and Jam session. Join JazzLeeds for some music and
laughter. Come and sing/play your instrument, or just watch the fun.
The trio will be the Jazzleeds House Band led by Chapel Allerton’s
pianist wizard Andy Cholerton. Phil Green will be your MC. Seven Bar. Pay What You Feel
collection.
Also on Sunday 26th
January, 7.30pm, the Seven Quiz .Test your
knowledge in a relaxed atmosphere – a great way to end the weekend with
friends. Seven Bar. £5
per team entry. With prizes.
