Dear Reader,

My January obsession is the New York Times Cooking app. You have to subscribe ($4.99 a month), but plug in any ingredient and a wonderful array of recipes is yours for the scrolling, plus they send you daily inspo. I’m sure many other apps do this but NYT is doing it for me right now. I’ve roasted their chickens, stuffed their burritos and simmered their lentils because January is such a great time to spend hours in the kitchen, especially listening to a podcast. I’m currently enjoying Katty Kay and Anthony Scaramucci’s four-parter on Trump’s Insurrection and The Good Whale, the real story of the killer whale who played Free Willy on the big screen (another gem from the New York Times, who bought Serial Productions back in 2020). Cooking, listening, reading, watching…. A good way to spend the month.

Have a great week.

What Do Players Eat On The Traitors?

We’re all watching The Traitors, aren’t we? But have you ever wondered whether that lavish breakfast spread is really there to fuel their day, or if it’s just for the cameras? We take a deep dive into food on our favourite show.

We can never reach peak pilates; it’s the fitness regime that keeps on giving… and 2025 is no different. But if you want to shake up your routine, check out what’s going down in pilates world.

What Is Cloud Skincare?

Good question. Last year skincare was all about the glassy look, but now we’re looking once more to Korea (those beauty trailblazers) and something softer and more dewy that sits between matte and polish. Find out how to achieve it here.

Dear Reader,

I’m just back from Paris Déco Off where I saw a feast of beautiful fabrics, trimmings and furniture for spring. Look out for Emma Shipley’s designs for Sanderson - her jewel-coloured damasks and velvets adorned with fantastical creatures are befitting of a castle. (Speaking of castles: maybe you want the Traitors look?)

New year, home refresh? Martha Davies has a step-by-step guide for you. Step one? A lick of paint perhaps. I’ll be going cherry red – the design world is going mad for it.

À bientôt!

On Trend

Macabre paintings, a fringed deer’s head, and tartan absolutely everywhere – The Traitors certainly is delivering some strong interiors inspiration. Here’s how to get the look.

Art Deco is back with a bang, says Martha Davies.

Kids bedrooms need not be twee. Here’s some ideas for bedrooms that grow up with them.

Seeing red? We are. Cherry red interiors are everywhere.
