1.30pm -4pm JazzLeeds – Stuart Garside
and Nola Big Band present The Harry Connick Jr Songbook.
They will be swinging out live and delving into the songbook of one of
the world’s greatest crooners, pianists, composers and arrangers of our

Rush Hour Jazz opens
its season on Wednesday
15th January 6-7.15pm, with Sophie Speed and Jeff
Hewer. Sophie and Jeff draw inspiration from legends like
Dexter Gordon, Hank Mobley, Cannonball Adderley and John Coltrane. Seven Bar. Pay What You Feel.

8pm, Cafe Scientifique – Making
Room for Wild Nature in a Crowded World by Professor of
Rewilding and Wilderness Science at Leeds University. Should there not
be room for wild spaces where we can see the natural world, or even
where we leave nature to get on by itself unseen? Hat Donations.

movie on Thursday 16th
January 7.30pm is Wicked Little Letters.
When residents of Littlehampton begin receiving poison pen letters,
Irish migrant, Rose, is charged with the crime. Suspecting that
something is amiss, the town’s women investigate. Stars Olivia Coleman, Timothy

On Friday 17th January
7-11pm, a new venture for Seven, Steppin’ In 2 Tomorrow.
DJ Josh Monypenny presents a night of deep and soulful selections from
across the universe, taking in soul, disco, boogie, lovers rock and
beyond. Everyone is welcome on the dance floor. Seven Bar. Free entry.
Winter Warmers – Pen &
Stu on Saturday
18th January 4-6pm play original contemporary folk, trad
and original tunes and songs and Celtic vibes. Seven Bar. Pay What You Feel.

January 7.30pm, from Kyiv to the Kosmos.
Cossack folk-punk pioneers, Len and Peter tell the story of the
Ukrainians’ 3+ decade career which has seen them change peoples
attitudes and awareness of Ukrainian culture. Expect interesting
stories, acoustic songs, photos, videos, and lots of questions. Seven Venue. £12.
On Sunday 19th
January, 1.30-4pm, JazzLeeds – Art Themen
Organ Trio. Saxophonist Art Themen has been a beloved
character of the British jazz scene for over 60 years, famously
combining his role as a consultant orthopaedic surgeon with saxophone
duties in the bands of Alexis Korner and Stan Tracey among many others.
