Playful, accessible, courageous, full of heart: only a few of the words we could use to describe the events coming up in the next few days. From a kaleidoscope of family-friendly shows at Imagine Children's Festival to the tactile shapes that take over the Hayward Gallery in When Forms Come Alive, there's plenty to get stuck into.

Looking ahead, this week we've finally revealed this year's Meltdown curator – head to the blog for a playlist that will have you dreaming of summer already.

Get ready for a Meltdown festival as euphoric and diverse as Khan’s catalogue, with dozens of concerts across ten days, and two weekends of free events and activities.

The first names for Chaka Khan’s Meltdown are set to be revealed in spring – watch this space.
