Dear Reader,

I love a bit of dinner party chat. This week I found myself with some fellow guests talking about our morning routines. Our debonair French ami said he woke, kissed his wife (25 years his younger, natch), squeezed half a lemon into some water to drink, walked barefoot outside and did Sun Salutations for 10 minutes in his devastatingly gorgeous Loire Valley garden. Sigh. My beauty journalist companion then said that while our French man’s morning seemed unachievably parfait, her advice was to pop a sachet of electrolytes in your glass of morning water (apparently our water quality means that all the good minerals we used to get don’t exist anymore), and down a tablespoon of flaxseed oil every day. Small but effective changes.

Have a wonderful morning.

Fashion Week Recap

Blink and it was gone but London Fashion Week brought its usual high glamour and high energy. My moment? Edeline Lee’s considered collection around mothers and daughters and the connection that fashion can be between them. Just beautiful.

Vertical Farming

Growing upwards is definitely going to be part of our food story going forward. Luckily, Gloucestershire is home to what is being billed ‘one of the world’s most advanced indoor farms’. Find out why here.

Nailing It

I had my nails painted bright green this week. A small but impactful appearance change, although I note sniffily it’s not a colour that’s necessarily on the nail trend list this year.

FIVE THINGS NOT TO MISS

Hardcore Swiftie and looking for a new role? We’ve got the perfect job for you: the V&A is hiring a Superfan Advisor.

Two of London’s cult food spots are joining forces: Yard Sale Pizza and Roti King. Curry on pizza, anyone?

You have a few more days to nab discounts on big West End shows during London Theatre Week.

ITV has released another powerful miniseries: Breathtaking, a drama about NHS staff during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Supper clubs are returning to Heckfield Place, kicking off this week with a special event helmed by Skye Gyngell and Merlin Labron-Johnson.
