Dear Reader,

If you’re anything like me, you run a mile from institutionalised days of ‘celebration’ (although I make Christmas an exception). Valentine’s Day? Pah. My wedding anniversary? Not in the diary, so never recalled. Am I completely unromantic? Quite possibly, but then days etched in diaries for performative acts of love seem to bring out in me quite the reverse. Give me a rainbow to break through the grey drizzle; an unasked for cup of tea when my hands are itching; a book you’ve just read and loved and know I will too. These are treasured moments – and can come at the most unexpected of times. Who said romance was dead?

Have a great week.

WHAT’S EXCITING ME THIS WEEK

Waste Of Fashion?

With LFW almost upon us, we also like to look beyond the razzle-dazzle to the designers doing it differently – check out those who are using waste wisely.

Fast Like Rishi

I’m all for fasting but can only do it in controlled conditions. Rishi’s weekly 36 hours is not within my power, however I’d like to do it. But what does a nutritionist think? We get the skinny on the PM’s eating habits.

What Is Hurkle-Durkling?

Tik-Tok’s latest trend is basically just taking an old-fashioned duvet day, but who I am to deny its new branding? Fill yer boots.

FIVE THINGS NOT TO MISS

Renowned Smithfield eatery St. JOHN is relocating to Fortnum & Mason for a three-week pop-up this February. 6 – 22 February

Staying in this weekend? Dive into Netflix’s One Day, the latest adaptation of David Nicholls’ book.

Celebrate Shrove Tuesday with a stack of pancakes at one of these London hotspots – or whizz up some of your own.

Wave goodbye to the famed Fenwick’s Bond Street store at the second-hand pop-up arriving across the road.

If you’re looking for a members’ club to join, check out SURENNE, Maybourne’s new launch focused around longevity and wellbeing.
