Dear Reader,

We’re a world obsessed with beauty products (my bathroom cabinet alone attests to that), but there are two things that have piqued my interest this week. Firstly, how much we waste – like magpies, we are attracted by the next glittering potion that promises dewy, plumped skin, but what happens to these barely opened pots? Or even the never opened ones that sit forlornly on shelves? We’ve discovered Toiletries Amnesty that disseminates these unwanted products (even slightly used ones) to places that could really benefit from them, such as women’s refuges, family centres and food banks. Secondly, is the need to read beauty ingredients like we do that of food. Many interfere with our hormonal system and it’s worth mugging up on the culprits – and knowing what to try to avoid. Find a full list here.

Have a great week.

WHAT’S EXCITING ME THIS WEEK

Oat Milk Obsessed?

The messaging over this plant-based alternative to dairy that’s taken us by storm is confused. We thought it was more sustainable and healthier, but it’s worth reading the small print…  And some may be better than others.

The Invisible Kitchen Trend

This is far beyond my reach, but apparently Courtney Cox is one for zero tolerance on kitchen clutter. This trend takes it one step further. Are you in?

Leap Year Superstitions

It comes around only every four years and there are plenty of wacky ways in which different cultures mark the Leap Year. Find out the strangest here…

FIVE THINGS NOT TO MISS

The latest immersive pop-up to hit London is OTHERWORLD’s nature-focused virtual reality experience, narrated by David Attenborough.

Opening in Exmouth Market this week is Morchella, a restaurant and wine bar from the team behind cult spot Perilla.

TikTok’s new viral dish is Marry Me Ramen – give it a whirl yourself with this recipe.

Get some zen in your life with a sound bath at The Mandrake – sessions run every Saturday at 11am.
