Dear,
When did theatre
get so expensive, or was it ever thus? I’m all for supporting
the arts in every way we can but will I be forking out £395 to see Sarah
Jessica Parker tread the boards for the first time in the West End? I’d
love to but clearly no. As with a lot of our culture, we seem to be
borrowing the playbook from New York’s Broadway where the sky-high price of
tickets doesn’t cause such battering of eyelids. Luckily, there’s plenty of
theatre that doesn’t cost the price of a small mortgage, especially if you
look outside W1. My favourites are The Bush, The Royal Court and The
Bridge.
Have a great week.

WHAT DO
YOU THINK OF WILDERNESS?
The jury’s out so far, but I had high hopes for this twisted thriller
starring Jenna Coleman with a wonky Welsh accent. I haven’t seen the
denouement yet, but at least some of the scenery is stunning. Find
out where it was filmed.

ADVENTS
FOR GROWN UPS
My inbox is filling up each day with advent
calendars, each more exotic than the last. My favourites are the
foodie ones such as Fortnums’ or Daylesford’s, as you know you’ll use
everything. I keep the boxes to stuff the children’s ones with little finds
for the following year.
