FOREVER EDINBURGH

What’s happening in Edinburgh in September 2022

As we bid a fond farewell to Edinburgh’s Summer Festivals, September arrives with an impressive array of events taking place throughout the city.

From food & drink festivals to the chance to see behind the scenes of several of Edinburgh’s usually hidden buildings, there’s plenty going on to keep boredom at bay and excitement levels high!

What’s on in Edinburgh this month

The nation-wide dog-friendly festival, DogFest arrives for 2 days of dog and family-friendly activities at the beautiful grounds of Dalkeith Country Park. Featuring dog shows, displays, shopping, advise from experts and food & drink, it’s sure to get tails wagging! While if it’s your Downward Dog pose that you want to perfect, head to the Edinburgh Yoga Festival at Summerhall.

Fancy a jam-packed programme of events including chef demos, BBQ stage, foraging walks, street food and an array of live music? Then book your ticket now for The Great British Food Festival. Or if you like the sound of gin bars, cocktail making masterclasses and presentations from distilleries, then The Gin To My Tonic: The Ultimate Gin Festival is sure to please.

This month also sees the return of the unmissable Doors Open Days. Whether you want to peek inside a 18th farm steading or visit a working observatory, this is a great way to see inside many of the city’s fascinating buildings, many of which are not normally open to the public.

It’s also the last few weeks to catch the landmark digital exhibition, RAPHAEL Magister Raffaello at Dovecot Studios.

The Local Kids’ Guide to Edinburgh

In partnership with egg, Scotland’s largest online and offline platform for women, we sourced Edinburgh’s most child-friendly places by asking the experts themselves…. Edinburgh’s youngest residents!

From ‘beastie-hunting’ in a secret garden and ‘walking up the volcano’ to ‘the place with the spinny bridge’, check out their suggestions for having an action-packed break in the city.

Resident Rewards Edinburgh

It’s time to reveal this month’s Resident Rewards Edinburgh – an outstanding local reward only available to Edinburgh residents!

This month, we have partnered with Luckenbooths on the city’s iconic Royal Mile to offer Kids Eat Lunch for Free.

Valid every day between 12pm and 4:45pm throughout September, this tasty offer is the perfect excuse for gathering the family together.

Top 10 Tranquil Edinburgh

Spaces for a Breather

There’s no denying Edinburgh is a bright, vibrant and dynamic city, but for those times when you want to escape the bustle and take a breather, the city offers a whole host of possibilities.

We’re delighted to have partnered with local breathwork expert Stuart Sandeman to shine a light on peaceful places across Edinburgh where you can relax and enjoy all nature’s beauty.

Edinburgh Music Reviews

Last month our Music Reviewer attended an epic guide with an iconic city backdrop.

Discover more about Mercury-prize winner Michael Kiwanuka’s performance at Edinburgh Summer Sessions at the historic Ross Bandstand.
