Jordan Lees of The Blair Partnership

The Blair Partnership are a full-service agency for clients across fiction, non-fiction, children’s & YA as well as across entertainment, broadcast, speaking and more.

They have an exceptional client list thanks to their agents and outstanding in-house teams who specialise in translation rights, finance, legal and business affairs, royalties, brand and product development, HR and talent and administrative support.

Jordon represents crime and thrillers, book club fiction, historical fiction and literary fiction, as well as true crime and non-fiction written by journalists and experts in their respective fields. He is typically drawn to writing with a darker and/or upmarket edge, and is open to anything high-concept or speculative.

He's interested in any kind of crime/thriller, whether commercial or literary, conventional or high-concept. He reads very widely across the genre, whether it’s Belinda Bauer, John Grisham, Fiona Barton, Nikki French, C.J Tudor, Tana French, Karin Slaughter or Ruth Ware.

He is eager to find elegant literary thrillers in the vein of Leila Slimani’s books, and is fascinated by folklore, fable and horror – so anything which includes those kind of elements will likely grab his attention, whether in crime/thrillers, historical fiction or upmarket/literary.

He is also a big fan of detective fiction so would definitely want to see anything in that area. He’d love to find something which innovates or subverts the genre in the vein of EVELYN HARDCASTLE by Stuart Turton, EIGHT DETECTIVES by Alex Pavesi or something fun and clever like KNIVES OUT.
