GREAT BRITISH BRAND INTERVIEW

Clive Jackson, founder and CEO of Victor

Favourite British brand? Barbour. For someone who is often out hiking or shooting, I find its waterproof jackets are intuitively designed, incredibly well made and able to cope with the harshest of weather. Hero? Sir Jackie Stewart. I once worked with his Jaguar Formula One team and, on the launch night at Lord's, I was directing my camera crew when he stopped on the red carpet, pulled me out of the crowd and thanked me. Making time for others is one of his special traits. Weekend? Henley Festival. There is something rather special about seeing guests arrive by slipper launch resplendent in black tie with champagne in hand. Dish? A simple grilled fresh lobster with chilli lime butter from my barbecue. Institution? The Royal Marsden, Chelsea. It’s a seat of learning for many, a place of excellence for all and, speaking from first-hand experience, the medical staff are second to none. Band? The Doors playing The End to see out 2020. Read? The Financial Times – it’s neither sensational nor political and has a wealth of great factual and balanced content written by some highly respected journalists. Designer? Suzie Turner, for the elegance and beauty of her dresses.

Mainland Scotland is currently in "enhanced level four". Local outdoor recreation, sport or exercise, walking, cycling, golf, or running that starts and finishes at the same place (which can be up to 5 miles from the boundary of your local authority area) is currently permitted as long as you abide by the rules on meeting other households.
