6 Million+ and Creative Scene - in partnership with
Kirklees Council, Bradford Council and the Holocaust Exhibition and
Learning Centre - invite you to join Be the Light in the
Darkness, an online event to mark Holocaust Memorial Day.
Local authority leaders, faith representatives and local people
involved in community projects with 6 million+ will share
reflections, candle lighting, puppetry, music and performances.
We are delighted that it is the first time that Bradford Council
and Kirklees Council have come together with the other partners for
this joint commemoration.
In the lead up to the event, 6 Million+ have been working
on Collect Your Belongings, which has seen refugees,
artists and local people paired up with each other in order to
exchange intimate and personal stories of belonging, inspired by
their own treasured objects. These storytelling and shadow
puppet performances have been filmed - at a safe distance - and
will form part of the commemoration.
As we can't be together in person, we invite anyone who joins the
online commemoration to light a candle of remembrance at the
end of the event.

Join us back on Zoom for a discussion with mural
artists Nomad Clan and a chance to find out about Mural Festival in
Batley – including commissions and opportunities for experienced
and emerging artists.
We're so excited to welcome internationally acclaimed
street art muralist duo Nomad Clan to BANK. Noted as one of
the top five female street artists in the world by The Guardian,
you might know them as the artists behind Athena Rising, the
tallest mural in the country, which overlooks Leeds train station.
The pair will be showing us some of their work, telling us
about the process of creating large scale public murals and
discussing how to work in the public realm.
