Creative
Kirklees Newsletter 12 January 2021
|
Hello
everyone
We hope
you are managing to keep warm and safe and finding some creative
activities to cheer you up during these cold winter days and evenings.
Just a
reminder that the online
organ concerts by Gordon Stewart that were streamed from Huddersfield
Town Hall from September to December are available to watch at any time
and for as many times as you like, so please enjoy them again or share
the link with anyone who you think might be interested – it’s a great
opportunity to see the magnificent Father Willis organ up close.
Also,
check out “January
at the Lawrence Batley Theatre” - each weekday they will be sharing a
free digital delight to nourish your mind body and soul – a great way to
start the New Year with some much needed positivity.
hcmf//
are looking to broaden their existing network of freelance workshop
leaders, and discover new creative practitioners whose expertise will
add value to their Learning & Participation offer – please do share
this great opportunity with anyone you think may be interested.
Deadline 31 January.
Lastly,
just to mention the
Cultural Recovery Fund is now open with its second round of funding
with grants available to cultural organisations as they transition back
to a viable and sustainable operating model during April-June 2021.
The closing date is 26 January.

Kirklees Newsletter 5 January 2021
|
Happy New
Year everyone, and welcome back to our weekly Newsletter.
With
another lockdown just announced and the weather decidedly chilly, we will
try and bring you as much online activity as we can over the next few
weeks. If you have a profile on the site, please do add any
suitable online activities under the Events tab (when adding please
remember to choose ‘Online’ under the ‘Event Categorisation’ tab so these
can be picked up easily). If you don’t have a profile but know of
any suitable creative activities in the area, please email the
information to arts.creativity@kirklees.gov.uk
and we will add them for you.
The
Arts Society, Huddersfield have a number of really interesting lectures coming
up in the year ahead which will all be delivered by Zoom. From
Furniture in Country Houses to Vincent Van Gogh to the Art of Colour in
Garden Design are the first few subjects so this gives you some idea of
the variety – do take a look!
For
anyone thinking about running an event or activity as part of the 2021
WOVEN Festival, there is a great opportunity for you to attend a fundraising
workshop this Friday (8 January) – please check this out if you are
interested.
