Have you spotted Lauren Roadnight's posters around
Dewsbury?
|
|
We can't wait to see you all (from a safe distance)
again on Saturday 12 September for Walking Through Time.
Join us in Dewsbury from 10.30am until 3pm and you might
stumble across architect Henry Holtam drawing up plans for Pioneer
House, or catch Reverend Patrick Bronte returning to his old
stomping ground, Dewsbury Minster.
And remember to be careful around the town hall, as Dewsbury’s rat
catcher is rumoured to be on the prowl for more vermin to add to
his collection...
Supported by Kirklees Townscape Heritage Initiative, writers and
performers from Dewsbury Community Outreach have been hard at work
over the summer, researching characters and bringing tales from
Dewsbury’s history to life.
If you want to catch all the stories, our team of
Arts Adventurers will be at Dewsbury Market and in the town centre
from 10am until 2.30pm with information and maps.

Walking Through Time is a self-guided tour through
Dewsbury town centre, which you’re welcome to complete at your own
pace.
You'll be able to catch the characters in action from 10.30am until
3pm.
|
|
|
Our
friendly team of Arts Adventurers will be stationed with each
performer to make sure everyone is at a safe distance.

Join us on Thursday 24 September on Zoom for a
lunchtime chat with producer and entrepreneur Chris Bailkoski.
Chris combined an entrepreneurial spirit with his fine art
background to set up major music venue Soup Kitchen and Live Art
platform PROFORMA in Manchester.
|
|
|
Chris will
discuss how to provide a platform for grassroots artists
and musicians, with advice for creatives looking to set up
their own businesses, and the potential for music and arts
venues to play a part in bringing communities together during
COVID-19.
