Enjoy a delicious afternoon tea in the beautiful setting of Fixby Hall with two fabulous guests.  
 
Mike Gayle is the author of 15 novels, including his debut Top 10 Sunday Times bestseller, My Legendary Girlfriend, Mr Commitment and The Man I Think I Know.  Funny, frank and full of painfully acute observations, his books have been translated into more than 30 languages.

Janet Ellis is a novelist, actor and broadcaster perhaps best known for presenting Blue Peter and Jigsaw.  Her first novel was the dark, twisted love story The Butchers Hook - her second novel, How It Was, will be out later this year

An evening of LGBTQ+ entertainment with the ever popular Polari Up North, hosted by Paul Burston - plus special performances by poet Gerry Potter and comedian Rosie Wilby.

The award-winning poet reads from his brand new collection of hard-hitting, socio-political poetry, prose and plays:
Manchester isn't The Greatest City in the World (adult themes/LGBTQ+)

7.15pm: Polari Up North - hosted by Paul Burston

Paul Burston, creator of
Polari (www.polarisalon.com) and the founder of the Polari First Book Prize.  His fifth novel, domestic noir
The Black Path, was a Number One bestseller at WH Smith.  His latest, The Closer I Get,  is published in 2019            
 


VG Lee:
Crazy hat lady, comedian and author of short stories and five critically acclaimed novels, including Diary of a Provincial Lesbian and Mr Oliver's Object of Desire.  


Fiona Mozley:

Fiona's Yorkshire set debut novel Elmet won the 2018 Polari First Book Pirze and was shortlisted for the 2017 Man Booker Prize.



8.30pm: Rosie Wilby - Is Monogamy Dead?

 
The award-winning comedian, writer and broadcaster presents a mixture of talk, discussion and highlights from her stand-up show; combining memoir and humorous sociological study, which also became an award-shortlisted book.

Coconut Unlimited  and Meatspace talks about the themes of immigration and assimilation in his latest novel, The One Who Wrote Destiny, an inter-generational epic that starts with a young man moving from Kenya to West Yorkshire.

A champion of diversity in books and publishing, Nikesh Shukla is founder of The Good Agency and The Good Journal, and editor of The Good Immigrant, an award-winning collection of essays from 21 British writers of colour.  The Good Immigrant USA is published this month.
