In a continuation of my popular weekly blog post, here are a few more ideas of things to do in Leeds, Bradford, London, York, Sheffield and more this weekend. Enjoy:
Look forward to summer
Hi
There's just a couple of weeks left until the end of term, so it's the perfect moment to look ahead to what's on at our venues in and around Leeds over the summer holidays. Shades and sunhats at the ready - it's time to start making plans!
Back to Nature
This summer, Temple Newsam House bursts into bloom with Plant Power! Join us for a whole mix of playful, plant-themed activities throughout the house, farm and estate.
Get inspired by nature and our Untangled exhibition this summer. Take part in felt and wool craft workshops throughout August, as well as a special felted ladybird trail around the museum.
Leeds Discovery Centre has a whole range of workshops to inspire you this summer, including Moth Week, Festival of Archaeology: Floral Tile Crafts, and Amazing Animals Week. The sessions include a tour of our fascinating collection store.
Fun & Games
It's a very jolly holiday at Lotherton this summer, with a whole host of children's entertainment, fairground rides, sand pit, crafts, classic seaside games, and a trail around the house.
Leeds City Museum is the final stop on the Trivial Pursuit Leeds trail this summer. To celebrate, we have a range of games-themed activities to try, from a Puzzles & Riddles Trail to Board Game Crafts and more.
Join in a playful collage activity with artist Yekta Jamei, inspired by our exhibitions. Don't miss our Loud Gallery Tours too, where adults and children are invited to be energetic, curious and vocal as they discover specially chosen artworks together.
Tales & Trails
A fun family nature-inspired trail for the school holidays, with crafty versions of the abbey's birds, bees, bats and butterflies. Plus arts and crafts activities and LEGO workshops.
Join this spotter trail around the museum, celebrating Enid Blyton's much loved children's book series. Explore different worlds from the books with creative drawing and writing activities along the way.
Leeds Industrial Museum's brand new trail takes you on a journey through the dangers of factory work in times gone by. Grab your hard hat and high vis, spot the dangers and think up creative solutions!

WIN a day out in Hebden Bridge!
With thanks to Hannah of Get Lost Yorkshire:
HeyThere are some places in Yorkshire that instantly make you slow down. You hear the sound of rushing water before you even see it. Sunlight filters through the trees. The air feels cooler, fresher, and for a little while the rest of the world seems to disappear. That's exactly how I felt when I visited Lumb Hole Falls near Hebden Bridge. Hidden away in the South Pennines, this beautiful waterfall feels like something straight out of a fairy tale. The walk itself is just as memorable as the destination too, winding through peaceful woodland, rolling hills and open countryside before revealing the falls tucked away below. One thing I particularly love is that you can easily turn it into a full day out. After visiting the waterfall, you're only moments from the spectacular woodland at Hardcastle Crags, while the cafés and independent shops of Hebden Bridge are just a short drive away. It's one of those Yorkshire adventures that somehow still feels wonderfully undiscovered. If you're thinking of getting outdoors this summer, I've put together a complete guide with everything you need to know before you visit, including where to park, the walking route, what to expect along the way, and a few important things to know before you go. 👉 Read my complete guide to Lumb Hole Falls here If you're anything like me, there's something incredibly calming about sitting beside a waterfall for half an hour and simply listening to the water tumble over the rocks. It never gets old. Until our next adventure, P.S. 🌿 There's one fascinating piece of history hidden beside the waterfall that most visitors walk straight past. I nearly missed it myself, but once you know the story, it makes the visit even more memorable. It's included in the guide.
