Wednesday, July 22nd | This week, as the summer holidays get underway, there are plenty of opportunities to get out and explore what's happening across Kirklees. Creativity takes centre stage this weekend as the district comes alive with festivals, celebrations and family-friendly events. This Saturday 25th July visit Holmfirth Pride for a vibrant celebration featuring live music, drag performances, DJs, family entertainment, children's activities and arts and crafts. Follow the music through the Colne Valley at Onwards Festival, where performances pop up along the canal between Slaithwaite and Marsden. Or head to Dewsbury on Sea, bringing seaside fun to the town centre with an urban beach, creative activities, family entertainment, fairground rides and special appearances from Ariel and Prince Eric. Looking ahead to August, celebrate Yorkshire Day at Oakwell Hall with traditional family entertainment and a chance to enjoy one of Kirklees' most historic visitor attractions. Enjoy SCRAPtastic Craft pop-ups with Helen Robinson Art or get creative with Hoot Creative Arts' Drawing from Nature workshop, using local plants, vegetables and flowers as inspiration for your artwork. You can also make the most of the summer holidays with activities taking place at various Kirklees venues, including the National Coal Mining Museum, Whistlestop Valley and Cliffe House.
