Escaped Alone

LAC present their new production of Caryl Churchill's hilariously radical play, Escaped Alone

Three old friends and a neighbour. A summer of afternoons in the garden, sipping tea and shooting the breeze. But something darker is simmering under the tea and biscuits, with premonitions of catastrophe and man-made disaster.

Evening performances will be followed by a short Q&A with the actors and director.

Suitable for all ages.

As the long-standing BBC cricket correspondent, Johnathan Agnew learnt his craft under the guidance of Brian Johnston, and emerged from the notoriety of the gloriously funny “leg over” incident to become one of the country’s finest commentators and interviewers.

Expect behind-the-scenes film footage, great sporting action & hilarious anecdotes!

Titanic the Musical is a powerful show that tells the true story of the 'unsinkable' ship, it's passengers, and the tragedy that changed history.

It exposes deep flaws and how the disaster forever dispelled the unswerving belief of the time, that God favours the rich.

Presented by The Leeds Gilbert & Sullivan Society.

Battle Cry

Battle Cry is a solo play by Matt Fox, based on the true story of a former soldier, Adam, struggling with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The play follows Adam as he recounts his experiences in war, the horrors he witnessed, and the heavy toll this took on him. 

A powerful and moving exploration of the human cost of war, and a reminder of the devastating impact PTSD can have on those who experience it.

 Age guidance: 16+

 

Mammy, Daddy and Baby Bear

 

 

The Three Bears

Join Mammy, Daddy & Baby Bear for a musical tale filled with puppets, and a twist on the classic story.

Each day the Three Bears head into the woods to collect interesting things to re-use in their home. Soon their cosy house is turned upside down by a colourful whirlwind that threatens to sit in their chairs, eat their porridge and sleep in their beds. It’s Goldilocks!

This relaxed performance is perfect for little ones aged 6 and under.

Ashley Blaker: Normal Schmormal

The star of BBC Radio 4’s hit comedy 6.5 Children takes to the road in a new stand-up show, based on the best-selling book of the same name, about the joys of raising children with special needs.

Between endless meetings, countless therapists, public humiliations, failed playdates, surreal monologues, and occasional violence, it’s certainly not what anyone would call a ‘normal’ household – but would Ashley want it any other way?

In this enchanting stage adaptation, aliens from a distant planet have crash-landed on earth and need our help to get home. 

But there’s a problem. Their rocket runs on stories, not fuel, and only the greatest story in the universe will be enough to save them! 

With a captivating combination of live action, animation and puppetry, this magical story is sure to surprise and delight children and nostalgic adults in equal measure.

You Choose what happens!

You Choose is an interactive musical show for all the family. But in this show – YOU CHOOSE what happens! 

Using the beloved book by Pippa Goodheart and Nick Sharratt and inspiration, expect games, challenges, and audience participation. 

Each show becomes completely unique - with different characters, locations, costumes, and more every single time!

Age guidance: 2-7

School of Rock follows 'Dewey Finn', a failed, wannabe rock star who decides to earn an extra bit of cash by posing as a substitute teacher at a prestigious prep school. There, he turns a class of straight–A pupils into a guitar-shredding, bass-slapping, mind-blowing rock band. 

But can he get them to Battle of the Bands without their parents and the school’s headmistress finding out?
