As writer and critic Gore Vidal once said, “An
autobiography tells the story of a life, while a memoir tells a
story from a life.” You can write your memoir in 15 minutes a day. Read

Good
morning,
Last week I ordered a new electronic gadget for my home. Upon its
arrival yesterday, I tore open the box and did something almost
unheard of:
I read the instruction manual from cover to cover. (Ah, so THAT’S
how you turn it on! Got it!)
I’ve always been a “manual, schmanual” kind of guy up to now. I’d
rather learn on the go than invest the time to understand how
things ticked. But it seems in today’s slowed-down world, we all
have some extra time on our hands. The 45 minutes I spent
understanding my gizmo before turning it on is going to pay off,
I’m sure.
I’d advocate for this same kind of approach as you think about
publishing your book. Sure, you can go ahead and wing it—a lot of
new authors try this approach. But with rare exceptions, they make
a lot of rookie mistakes that waste both time and money.
The smart author will put in some time and effort to better
understand the self-publishing process. Don’t worry; it’s not
Advanced Physics kind of learning. Just being acquainted with the
process and basic requirements will go a long way toward a
successful publish.
I’d recommend you start your self-publishing education with our
guide, How To Prepare Graphics Files For Book
Printing.
This free download answers dozens of questions and addresses issues
that might pop up in your own publishing process. We also have ready-to-publish book templates so you can format your
book and speed the printing process.

Good
morning,
Of all the disruptions we’re living through today, there’s one that
impacts nearly all of my neighbors and friends: school closures.
While my own kids are well past their school years, I do understand
the pain that parents are experiencing—especially when social
distancing separates childhood friends. From canceled spring sports
and concerts to missed high school proms and graduations, this has
been a school year like no other.
However, some schools are making the best of the situation by creating
beautiful class yearbooks. It’s one school tradition that can’t be
stopped by a virus! With our “no contract, no hassle” approach to
yearbooks, BookBaby has been the go-to source for hundreds of
schools around the country. We offer ultra-fast turnaround
times—500 yearbooks will ship in just seven days—and you can order
in any quantity, from 25 to 1,000+. While many print houses are
currently shuttered, BookBaby is open for business and ready to
produce high-quality yearbooks for your community.
And one more reason to choose BookBaby: We can also ship
yearbooks directly to your students during this time of social
distancing!
Give us a call at 866-409-8169 or go to our yearbook web page to get started on your
project.
