Exploring Poetry sessions
An exciting strand to our
programme is Exploring Poetry: a series of hour-long sessions in which to
read and discuss contemporary poetry in a friendly environment.
These sessions have been
devised by two northern poets, Anna Woodford and Linda France. One poet will
attend each session, where they will select some of their favourite
contemporary poetry alongside works by each of the Read Regional poets.
Linda France, based in
Northumberland, will lead discussions on Wednesday 10 May, 5pm at Newcastle
City Library, and on Thursday 18 May, 6pm at Morpeth Chantry. Both sessions
will be followed by readings from Ruby
Robinson, whose collection, Every
Little Sound, is part of this year’s Read Regional programme.
Further Exploring Poetry
sessions will place in June at North
Bridlington Library, Norton Library and Kendal
Library.
