Creative Kirklees Newsletter 24 May 2017

Hello and welcome to this week’s Creative Kirklees Newsletter.  As well as enjoying the lovely warm weather there are lots of events and activities to keep you busy this week and next during half term – we’ve listed a few here but there are more on the website.
Looking ahead to June, the
Great Get Together is taking place over the weekend of 16 - 18 June.  Inspired by Jo Cox, who was killed on 16 June last year, the idea for the event is to organise the biggest neighbourhood celebrations since the Jubilee street parties.  People are invited to get together with their neighbours to share food and celebrate ‘all that we hold in common’.  You can organise your own event or join in with some of the ones going on nearby.  We’ve listed some events taking place in Kirklees that we know about and the Great Get Together website will list events closer to the time.  If you want to find out what’s going on near you why not register at the Great Get Together and they’ll notify you about events taking place nearby?
Festival update: You’ve still got a few days to enjoy the
Holmfirth Film Festival (until Friday 26 May), with a great selection of films and documentaries from around the world and if you’re planning to attend the 2017 Cleckheaton Folk Festival their discounted ticket offer ends on 31 May.
Keep in touch during the week with
Facebook or Twitter.
