Here is the latest Creative Kirklees newsletter for my followers to peruse:

Creative Kirklees Newsletter 3 May 2017

We mentioned some of the festivals in last week’s newsletter and this weekend gets you started with the lively and fun Grand Northern Ukulele Festival.  Taking over the entire LBT building in Huddersfield this festival describes itself as ‘The UK’s quirkiest, boldest and most welcoming festival….’.  You can buy full weekend tickets or join in the festival fringe on Friday and Saturday with free events around Huddersfield -

If you’ve ever fancied having a go at woodturning or wondered what it’s all about, now’s your chance to find out more! Birstall Woodturning Club in Mirfield are opening their doors for the day to let you have a go yourself, watch demonstrations and chat with turners and carvers.
Next week is
Mental Health Awareness Week and S2R Create Space is joining in the campaign with a range of creative and outdoorsy workshops, finishing the week off with a Music Night on Friday 12 May with music from Hokum, Boo Sutcliffe & Band of Jays.  You can find out more about their plans for the week here.
