Ilkley Literature Festival 2015

The Ilkely Literature Festival have some events coming up in March, April, May and June, full details below:

Save the Date: David Starkey and Words in the City

Put the dates in the diary now! After our successful campaign to keep funding from Bradford MDC we are looking forward to a busy spring with some excellent events planned.

We are very excited about the return of Words in the City which sees us mix poetry with sensational food for the weekend at the World Curry Festival. As well as the many fun family events we have planned we will also be welcoming two of our most distinguished and diverse poets, Tony Harrison and John Hegley. David Starkey was one of most popular events at the 2014 Festival and we are very much looking forward to welcoming him back to Ilkley and to learning more about the Magna Carta in this anniversary year.

Box Office Opens: 9am on Monday 20 April at www.ilkleyliteraturefestival.org.uk

Following his sell out appearance at the 2014 Festival, David Starkey returns to Ilkley to discuss his latest book, Magna Carta The True Story Behind the Charter that Changed the World, which explores the history, impact and global influence of the Magna Carta, 800 years on.

Tickets available from 20 April.

From Outside the Frame

Our Creative Case North project, 'From Outside the Frame', has come to an end but it has already spawned lots of exciting possibilities. The project, saw Festival Director Rachel Feldberg working with poet Rommi Smith, musician Kenny Higgins and Leeds Art Gallery curator Nigel Walsh to explore ideas relating to the Creative Case for Diversity – a re-imagining of the Arts Council’s approach to diversity and equality.

You can catch up on what it involved by reading Rachel's blogs here.
